FamilySearch.org is a tremendously powerful tool for finding genealogical information from around the world. The site, created and administrated by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, provides keyword search of a wide range of records and resources from around the world. The site lets you directly search the Family History Library Catalog including microfilm, microfiche and publications found at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah. Many items can be loaned to local Family History Centers around the world.
One of the unique features is free family history software called PAF (Personal Ancestral File) which allows researchers to quickly and easily collect, organize and share family history and genealogy information.
